About Christie Symons

Christie brings over 15 years of experience working in healthcare and senior wellness to the Mobility Health & Wellness team. Currently serving as a Certified Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) and Rehab Aide with the Nova Scotia Health Authority since 2019, Christie has dedicated her career to helping individuals maintain mobility, regain strength, and live independently for as long as possible.

In her current role with NSHA’s Restorative Care and Veterans Unit, Christie supports patients with daily mobility and functional exercises, facilitates structured exercise programs, and helps individuals safely return to an active lifestyle after illness or injury. Her work emphasizes proper body mechanics, injury prevention, and building confidence through movement.

Christie holds a Personal Support Worker (PSW) diploma, earned in Ontario in 2009, and received her CCA provincial certification in Nova Scotia in 2012. She also holds an Active Aging Certificate, which allows her to create programs that promote functional fitness for older adults. In addition, Christie is certified in First Aid and CPR and has extensive training in Safe Patient Handling and Mobility.

Her passion for helping others is what led her to join Mobility Health & Wellness as an In-Home Trainer. Christie believes that fitness should be accessible to everyone, especially those who cannot access traditional gyms or group classes. She looks forward to creating individualized programs that fit seamlessly into her clients’ lives, providing not only physical support but also encouragement and accountability.

When she’s not working with clients, Christie enjoys line dancing, listening to music, and sharing laughs with others.

Her clients can expect compassion, patience, positive energy, and a personalized approach to every session. Christie’s mission is to help you stay strong, safe, and confident.
