Expect a quiet practice, but not necessarily an easy practice. In an effort to target the deepest tissues in your body, connective tissues, ligaments, joints, bones, and fascia networks, poses are held for approximately three to five minutes, and potentially longer. Yin Yoga postures are passive, mainly on the floor with some exceptions. You will have to ask yourself to soften and relax into the posture, soften the muscles, and move deeply into your bones. Yin offers deep access to your body, The time spent in yin postures can be much like time spent in meditation. Practicing yin yoga will not only enhance but also be an amazing complement to your yang practice.
This class is done in bare feet or grip socks. Please bring a mat if you have one. We do have extras if you need to borrow one.
