As the holidays approach, life tends to get a little heavier for some… not just emotionally, but logistically and financially too. The to-do lists get longer, the invitations pile up, and suddenly your calendar feels like a game of Tetris (remember that game?!). Between work, holiday parties, kids’ activities, shopping, baking, and family commitments, it can feel like there’s barely time to breathe, let alone take care of yourself.

This time of year, we often hear women say they’re thinking about putting their membership on hold or cutting back on classes because there is too much going on. And I get it- life is busy and expensive, so it’s completely understandable to feel like something has to give.

BUT…. before you let your own self-care be the first thing to go, I want to gently remind you that moving your body isn’t another obligation- it’s a form of support, therapy if you will. It’s what helps you handle everything else with a little more ease.

When you move your body, you’re not just improving your fitness… you’re changing your entire internal chemistry. You’re lighting up the parts of your brain that boost your mood and regulate your stress. You’re releasing endorphins, which lift your spirits and lower anxiety. You’re improving blood flow, which boosts energy and focus. You’re strengthening your immune system (something we all need through the darker, colder months)!

And mentally? It’s everything. 🙌

Exercise gives your mind a place to land when everything around you feels chaotic.

It offers structure and grounding when your days feel unpredictable.

It’s that one consistent piece of your week that belongs entirely to YOU!

Your phone goes away, no one is tugging at your shirt or calling your name, and for that hour, you don’t have to be anyone’s mom, partner, employee, or caretaker. You just get to be YOU! It’s a rare moment where your focus turns completely inward…. your breath, your strength, your movement, your energy. You get to recharge, reset, and remember what it feels like to take up space for yourself without guilt or distraction. Those moments of presence are so very powerful. These moments refill your cup in ways that nothing else can. 🙏

Movement clears the mental clutter. It helps you process your emotions, release tension, and reconnect with your body. When you walk out of class, you don’t just feel physically stronger…. you feel lighter, more centered, and capable of handling whatever’s next.

The time you spend moving isn’t about perfection or performance- it’s about preservation. It’s about protecting your mental health and maintaining a sense of stability in a season that asks a lot from you. 💕

If you truly need to scale back, that’s okay. But stay connected. Come for a drop-in, ask a loved one to gift you with one of our specialty events, post in the community group to see if anyone wants to join you for a walk, or just find some quiet and roll out your mat at home. No matter what life throws at you, keep moving in ways that remind you that you’re still showing up for you.

And if you’re someone who thrives with a bit of accountability (don’t we all?), we will soon be releasing details on our first annual December Challenge for anyone who wants, or needs, extra support through the busy holiday season. It’ll be a fun, flexible way to stay active and connected while keeping your goals in sight.

But listen….You’re doing great. Truly. You haven’t come this far to only come this far.

Read that again. ☝

Now keep going. 🤗

And if you ever feel like you need a little extra encouragement, direction, or just someone to talk to… please know I’m only a message away. 💗

Until next Sunday.
