I heard something last week that really bothered me and stuck with me.

Someone in our community was encouraging another woman to come to a class, and her response was something along the lines of:

“Oh, I can’t go there… all the fit girls with their Lululemons….”

I felt so bad hearing this because this is not the image we want to portray. And if you’ve been in our studio, you know that this is not a true representation of us. At first I was upset, but the more I thought about it- the more it reminded me just how many women still feel intimidated by fitness spaces. And how deeply ingrained those fears can be.

So let’s clear this up. Mobility is not a room full of fit girls in Lululemon. Mobility is a room full of real women of all ages, sizes, backgrounds, and seasons of life.

We have women who show up in Lululemon, yes… but we also have women who show up in leggings from Walmart and shirts from Costco.

One day I asked a woman: “I love those leggings, where did you get them?” Her response? “Old Navy!” Another time I overheard: “I love that top, where’s it from?” The answer? “Giant Tiger!”. The response back- "I love it!!"

This is who we are. A space where it truly does not matter what brand is on your clothes, as long as you can move comfortably and you show up.

We have women who weigh 100 pounds, women who weigh 300 pounds, and everything in between. We have women in their 20s finding confidence for the first time, and women in their 60s and 70s just discovering it now. Sure, we have women who have always exercised, but we also have so many women who walked through our doors to start for the very first time. And let me remind you…. it is never too late to start.

Our community is built on real women with real lives. Women juggling kids, partners, careers, caregiving, exhaustion, hormones, grief, and growth. Women navigating perimenopause, postnatal recovery, chronic pain, mental health battles, and new beginnings. Women who laugh and cry in the same hour and then roll up their mat and go back to their day.

And yes…. women in all different financial situations, too. Some who make sacrifices to afford their membership because they know how deeply they need this time for themselves. Some who have more disposable income and choose to invest it here because they value how it makes them feel. And many who fall somewhere in between. And yet…. every single one of them belongs here equally the same.

If you’ve ever watched from the sidelines and thought:

“I’m not fit enough.”

“I’m not thin enough.”

“I’m not young enough.”

“I don’t have the right clothes.”

“I’ll stand out.”

“I’ll be the only one who doesn’t know what they’re doing.”

Or the dreaded “I have to lose weight before I go to they gym”…….  😓

Let me say this as gently as I can........

You’re already the kind of woman this space was created for. 💗

You don’t need fancy leggings to belong here.

You don’t need strength or flexibility or experience.

You don’t need confidence.

You don’t even need to know how to use a dumbbell.

You just need to walk in, and we will help take care of the rest.

Because the women in our classes?

They’re the ones who help each other get set up.

Who whisper “you’ve got this” between reps.

Who celebrate a half push-up like it’s a gold medal moment.

Mobility isn’t about perfection.

It’s not about brands.

It’s not about being “fit enough.”

It’s about showing up.

It’s about connection.

It’s about women supporting women.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign that you belong here…. this is it. We’ll welcome you just as you are. 🤗

If you're already a member.... show some love in the comments to let others know how diverse, welcoming and accepting we really are. 🙌

Until next Sunday my friends,

Rachel 💕
